Rio Mobiles Launches Three Low-Budget Smartphones For Indian Consumers

Rio Mobiles jumped into the Indian smartphone market launching three budget devices running Android OS. Named as Rio London, Rio Paris and Rio New York, all three smartphones would be available online on Snapdeal.com. Snapdeal announced its partnership with New Delhi-based Rio Mobiles offering Android smartphones. Adnan Kidwai, director of Rio said that the phones are characterized by style and simplicity combining functionality with high performance. He also hoped that the company would evolve as a key player in Indian market with Snapdeal’s network and pan-India reach.

All three smartphones are similar on few specifications. All Rio phones launched recently, are powered by 1.3GHz dual-core MediaTek processor (MT6572) coupled with 512MB RAM. Users can find Android v4.4.2 KitKat operating system. All three smartphones support dual-SIM compatibility along with 3G connectivity.

Rio London (R201) being the basic model among all three, feature 4-inch WVGA screen with 480x800 pixels resolution and packs 1500mAh battery whereas Rio Paris (R301) has 4.5-inch FWVGA screen with resolution of 480x854 pixels packs 1700mAh battery. The devices offer 4GB on-board storage with an option to expand via microSD card slot. Both smartphones come with 5MP rear camera with flash and 2MP front-facing camera.

Rio New York (R501), powered by 1.3GHz dual-core MediaTek (MT6582) processor features 5-inch WVGA display with resolution of 480x854 pixels. It packs 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 2MP front camera for selfies. Under the hood is a 2000mAh battery. Apart from 3G, other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, micro-USB. Sensors present are Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Ambient light sensor, Proximity sensor. Rio London is priced at Rs 3399, Rio Paris is priced at Rs 4399 and Rio New York comes with tag of Rs 4999.
