Qualcomm With A Row Of New Processors And Games

Expanding the Snapdragon S1, S2, S3, S4 classes of mobile processors and announcing new upgrades for Snapdragon S1, Qualcomm today announced a series of new next generations processors for various mobile devices. The new Snapdragon S4 processors architecture have been introduced to bring down the engineering, inventory and designing cost of high end mobile devices, enabling OEMs to introduce the best of multimedia, UI design, security and 3G & 4G connectivity in their next generation devices keeping the cost on the lower side.

Qualcomm's new micro architecture the Krait CPU is one of the most important part of the Snapdragon S4 processors which are purpose built for greater user experience by increasing the mobile performance and leading to a better battery life of the device. The names of the latest S4 processors from Qualcomm announced are:

> MSM8660A,

> MSM8260A,

> MSM8630,

> MSM8230,

> MSM8627,

> MSM8227,

> APQ8060A,

> APQ8030

These processors are expected to be seen in devices by early 2012 which will be including various enhanced connectivity features. The upgradation of Snapdragon S1 series have been done to give a better performance to the entry level smartphones. Some of these upgradation have been done to MSM7225A, MSM7625A, MSM7227A and MSM7627A processors.

Qualcomm's Snapdragon GameCommand application was also launched along with some exclusive games for the Android market. The Snapdragon GamePack includes some of the best known PC games like The Ball, Flight Game Heroes and GALAGA Special Edition which will be available in early 2012 exclusively for Android powered devices. Qualcomm has been working with various game development companies to produce quality games for the portable devices by utilising the Adreno GPUs embedded in Snapdragon processors, since the Snapdragon GamePack was launched in June 2011.
