This time we have news about a drone from South African firm Desert Wolf that can shoot pepper bullet to control rioters. Aptly titled Skunk Riot Control Copter has already managed to find a buyer for 25 units soon after its appearance at the Ifsec security show in London. According to its #-Link-Snipped-#, the Skunk weighs 45kgs and flies with the help of eight OS Max electric motors with 16 inch propellers. It fires 80 pepper bullets per second with the help of the four onboard paint ball barrels. The Skunk is able to carry a payload of 4000 bullets. In addition to the pepper-spray bullet firing guns that can also fire dye-marker balls and solid plastic balls the Skunk comes with non-lethal ways of controlling crowd such as bright strobe lights and “blinding” lasers. Before launching any assault the on-board speakers help warn the crowds. The only details the product page is missing are pricing and a photograph. We still have a vague idea about its appearance from the sketch below.

The sale of this drone has however managed to attract negative response from the International Trade Union Confederation because the buyer is an unnamed mining company. African firm is selling pepper-spray bullet firing drones - BBC News has quoted the statement of ITUC spokesman Tim Noonan who considers deploying battlefield technology against peaceful demonstrations a disturbing and repugnant development. ITUC has also assured that they will look into this matter by identifying and contacting the buyer. The makers of Skunk however argue that this is a safe way of dispersing crowd where law enforcement officials are not exposed to rioters.

Yep we here a lot of new applications from drones and this one is so cool idea because controlling riots is very difficult as the rioters would be so aggressive. So future war weapons were here now 😔
