Online Time Capsule Stores 100GB For 30 Years : Future-Proof Much?

Longaccess, a Greek company found by Panayotis Vryonis, is offering an online "time capsule" that stores users' 100GB data for a long period of thirty years - and not even the users can delete/update/edit this data once it's uploaded to the server. Users have to put their data in an encrypted folder on their computer, which shall then be uploaded to the company's servers. The user is then given a certificate with a code to allow decryption of their online archives, which stays in the dedicated space for 30 long years. The certificate ensures that the service is future-proof against the constantly changing technology.


The start-up founder clearly states that their service is in no way similar to that of Dropbox or iCloud, or the file sharing services like YouTube or Flickr. Their service is aimed at people seeking to save data for a really long term.The company stated that by analyzing the past, the now storage media that we enjoy shall soon get outdated and it would be practically impossible to read DVDs and other storage options available. And say even if a person accidentally deletes some important files from his PC's drive, he can always depend on the printed Archive Security for backup. Longaccess has raised over 173,000 pounds via several crowdfunding websites.

The service is priced as per a person's storage needs. It's free for up to 250MB storage, while for the 100GB storage, the price stands at £328.
