what is the difference between ERROR and EXCEPTION? How to identify a singly linked list that whether it is circular or not? Can your ciruit operate at 1MHz? If not what are the changes to be made? To construct a 2^n :1 MUX. how many leat number of 2:1 MUXes are required. If propagation delay of each MUX is 1nsec what will be the propogation delay of the above built ciruit. Some question on Address banks and had some figure. There were given some Setup time and hold time for register (i can't remember the values) and the logic ciruit were given with max and min delay Find out the mins. freq of operation. Most of the questions were asked from digital electronics

@AKD : I didnt take Nvidia aptitude test I got the questions from google My friend got placed in Nvidia. I ll ask him and post the placement procedure in detailed manner. Minimum Requirements: Should have sound knowledge on hardware and hardware trouble shooting. Prior experience on WHQL and DTM is must. Excellent knowledge on Vista, Vista 64 bit or 32 bit or XP is essential. Should have thorough understanding of OS architecture. Excellent know-how of Drivers and Windows Drivers Model Knowledge of Networking and general administration on Windows. @Pravee: Thanks. Here are some questions I found: Q. Why do we use circular link list in place of any balanced tree in storage allocator app? By using balanced search tree the address search time would be reduced to O(log n) which is not the case with Linked lists. To make it more clear : we are not restricted to free the memory allocated in the sequence in which it was allocated(hint) As Praveena said there are a lot of questions on Digital Electronics: Finite state machine(FSM) Cache memory Timing verifications Programming in C Programming in VHDL Programming in Verilog PLA All questions are descriptive. Engineering graduates appearing for NVIDIA should keep in mind that they company recruits candidates from non-CS/IT branches for the QA profile. Before you take up the job - understand that Hardware QA limits your domain in the overall software Industry. Engineers who've worked on NVIDIA's hardware products won't have the knowledge or experience of working in other regular software testing projects. Your choice of companies which you can join after NVIDIA QA experience will be limited to INTEL and other NVIDIA rivals in India.
Hey just got rejected from the nvidia technical interview 1 .which was tough ..they mostly concentrated on the C++(which was my weak part)..6 students from sinhgad got selected in it.

questions on Polymorphism(tell the types and write the program based on an example of run time polymorphism).then inheritance again told me to write the program,data structures like arrays, linked list ,told me to write the code to find the height of BST.. then questions on OS(deadlock in deatil..Kernel..Daemon process(favourite question i guess was asked in apti also)).then DBMS ..definitions of nomalization,keys(types there definitions)..SDLC (various models ..gave real life problems and told me to relate those with the models of SDLC)..Thats it the students who got selected had to appear for 4-5 tech. interviews(they just change the panels)..But frankly it depends on what panel you get..those who wish to get into nvidia prepare the basics very very well plus relate those with examples that will make your place in nvidia for sure..
