Nokia E7 Priced In India @ Rs. 35019

Nokia recently launched E7 in India and the latest price is Rs. 35019. E7 tries to combine the best of business smartphone and a personal entertainment phone. The phone however fails to impress with the technical features and the price point. Given the competition, we believe Nokia should rethink E7's price. There are better phones available in the market below Rs. 30,000 and it's no brainer that Nokia will have hard time selling it to the target audience. Yes, this phone is for Nokia fanboys who won't mind shelling out more money just for the brand.

Nokia E7 Features

The phone looks like the famous N8. 4" ClearBack AMOLED screen is gorgeous and large enough to make your messaging and video needs. The phone has a physical QWERTY keypad and the screen slides up to give you a mini-laptop or tablet with physical keyboard like experience. As with most of the Nokia phones, E7 supports push mail with notifications and exchange with MS Exchange. You can created and edit typical MS Office files and also read Adobe PDF files. One most important feature is the integration of VPN so that you can connect to your office network over secure connection. Nokia E7's calendar can sync with Microsoft Outlook and you can get notifications on your phone for all important meetings, events, anniversaries etc. As you'd expect with any of the modern phones, E7 has social networking inbuilt and popular SN apps like FB & Twitter have been integrated. E7 comes preloaded with GPS and uses OVI Maps software for navigation. The data security is handled by F-Secure software. We haven't had hands on with this phone, and haven't really used this security software.

On the entertainment side, the phone has a 8 megapixel camera that can shoot high quality HD videos at 720p resolution. You can connect this phone directly to your HDTV and view phone contents on a larger screen. Nokia E7 runs on Symbian 3 operating system which has been optimized for touch-screen devices. Symbian 3 also enhances the multi-tasking capabilities of this phone.

The phone ships in two color variants, Dark Grey & Silver White. The power comes from BL-4D 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery which should give you life of about 3 days on regular usage.

Our Opinion: Nokia E7 has all the features you'd expect from a business smartphone and can equally perform well as an entertainment device. However, the phone does not have any innovative features and runs on Symbian - which could go against the phone. The price is way more than what we'd expect and it's definitely a no-go for Rs.35k.
