Nokia 220 Unveiled At MWC 2014: The Feature-Rich Phone Will Cost < Rs.2500

Apart from unveiling forked Android based With Nokia X, X+ & XL, Nokia Finally Embraces Android At Affordable Prices smartphones, Nokia has taken the covers of the Nokia 220 which is an entry-level feature phone that comes with a dirt-cheap price tag of 29EUR/39USD (approx Rs. 2467). The Nokia 220 follows the footsteps of Nokia 110 as it combines familiar monoblock form factor and user friendly UI in a colourful shell. Nokia says that the 220 is its cheapest data phone till date. So to make sure that browsing is a seamless experience, Nokia adds in cloud powered Nokia Xpress Browser with Microsoft Bing search. Social networking is covered as well by the preloaded Facebook and Twitter apps. For gaming Nokia has added in Gameloft titles like Asphalt 6 Adrenaline, Assassin Creed, Block Breaker 3, Brain Challenge 3 and Modern Combat 2.

The Nokia 220 has been equipped with a QVGA (320 x 240 pixels) resolution LCD panel display. Nokia has added customary dual-SIM feature to help you enjoy the services of two cellular service providers. Connectivity features include microUSB and Bluetooth with Nokia’s proprietary SLAM feature for faster sharing. While the official spec list fails to mention internal storage space figure we predict it to be quite small considering its price. Nevertheless Nokia gives you the choice to add storage space with the help of microSD card of up to 32GB. You get a pretty decent 2MP camera that is also able to shoot QVGA (320 x 240 pixels) resolution videos at 15fps. The 220 has got an inbuilt MP3 player and FM radio to satisfy your thirst for music. If you do wish to watch videos on its tiny display we would like to inform you that it is able to play 3GP and MP4 formats. It is also nice to see the return of integrated flashlight on the Nokia 220. Since the phone does not have to worry about any battery sapping features like GPS, high-res photography or HD video playback its user-replaceable 1100mAh battery is able to last up to a month on standby and offer 15 hours of talk-time. The Nokia 220 is available in red, black, white, yellow and cyan variants in selected markets from today.
