Mozilla's Firefox OS For Mobile To Run On Smartphones In Brazil By 2013

Firefox OS for Mobile is coming. Yes, you heard it right. Mozilla is bringing a fully open mobile ecosystem based on HTML5 for its users with the support from leading operators like Deutsche Telekom, Etisalat, Smart, Sprint, Telecom Italia, Telefónica and Telenor. This project is a result of Mozilla’s “Boot to Gecko project” that allowed HTML5 applications to unleash the potential of a phone that normally only a native application could.

TCL Communication Technology and ZTE have announced today that they will be the first devices that features this all-new Firefox OS and Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. These Firefox OS driven devices will expect a commercial launch in Brazil by early 2013 through Telefónica’s commercial brand, Vivo.
