Microsoft Mobile Launches Nokia Lumia 530 Single and Dual SIM: Features, Specs And Price Detailed

What do you get if you downgrade the specs of Nokia Lumia 630 and target it for the budget audience? You get the new Nokia Lumia 530. The first offering from the newly christened Microsoft Mobile is an affordable way to enjoy Windows Phone 8.1. The prices of both the single SIM and dual SIM variants are expected to be below 100 EUR (8,086.47 INR). So let’s see how Microsoft Mobile has cut corners to make this smartphone so cheap. To start with, it has not included its ClearBlack technology and Gorilla Glass protection with the non-IPS panel 4-inch LCD display which has a FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) resolution. Next it has reduced the internal memory of the phone from 8GB to 4GB. Sure it is not a major drawback as Windows Phone 8.1 allows apps to be loaded to the microSD card but chances are you might run out of space loading system updates which require to be installed on the internal memory only. The Nokia Lumia 530 accepts microSD cards of up to 128GB and offers cloud-storage of 15GB. Existing Nokia Lumia phones offer cloud storage of 7GB.

On the inside Microsoft has opted for an older and less powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset that houses 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 512 MB of RAM. It is curious to note that the slightly expensive Nokia Lumia 525 has a 1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and 1GB of RAM. The camera too is less impressive as it is a fixed focus 5MP sensor without flash that is able to record FWVGA resolution videos at 30fps. We think that this is a major drawback of the phone as its nearest siblings Lumia 520, 525 and 630 all are able to record Full HD videos and offer 4x zoom. Connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB are duly covered along with cellular and Wi-Fi network positioning, A-GPS and A-GLONASS with HERE and Bing maps. The Nokia Lumia 530 is powered by a 3.5V 1430 mAh BL-5J battery that is able to provide maximum standby time of 22 days and maximum talk time of 13.4 hours. The Nokia Lumia 530 will be available in stores globally from August. Feel free to check out the hands on demo of these 3G connectivity enabled phones before heading to the source links below.

Not a worthy upgrade from Lumia 520....It's not even an upgrade other than a change in the processor

As it turns out Nokia has set the price of the Nokia Lumia 530 much less than 100EUR. The Nokia Lumia 530 will be sold in India by the company on its official website at RS. 7349.
This means the Moto E continues to be the winner as its priced less than the Nokia Lumia 530 and comes with better specs. We expect the price of the Nokia phone to go down in a few months after its launch like it did with the 630.

    Thanks for the update, Satya.

It looks like the Windows company doesn't want to let go of the Nokia branding in spite of having taken over the Finnish company’s devices business. 👀
