LG Watch Urbane Blends Advanced Features With Classic Looks In A Smartwatch

All the smartwatches cater for the newest in technology, be it the hardware or the software. Very less has been done regards to the overall design, the look and feel. Well, LG Electronics hopes to change that perception with its first all-metal luxury Android Wear device called 'LG Watch Urbane'. Going to be unveiled at this year's Mobile World Congress event, the brand new LG smartwatch is ready to go on the stage. Targeted at the premium, cosmopolitan user, the LG Watch Urbane wants to be the sophisticated device that enhances the wearer's style while not compromising on the tech part.

Not very long ago, LG launched the LG Announces G Watch R In The Run Up To IFA 2014, a round faced smartwatch that unlike the Samsung smartwatches followed in the footsteps of Moto 360. Though it isn't right to call the LG Watch Urbane its successor, we will take the liberty to say that while the LG G watch R was intended for a user base that's more active and roughly uses it on a regular basis, the LG Watch Urbane is built by keeping the the more formal scenario in mind. Just one look at it will tell you that its design resembles that of a luxury timepiece (something that's passed on from a generation to other in the big families?).

Powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, the LG Watch Urbane features a 1.3 inch full circle P-OLED display with a narrower bezel than the LG G Watch R. The strap can be replaced with any 22mm wide band. Running on the Android 4.3 and above operating system, the LG Watch Urbane includes the heart-rate monitoring functionality, along with the 9-Axis (Gyro / Accelerometer / Compass) and Barometer sensors. A 410 mAh battery powers this watch and the presence of 4 GB eMMC and 512 MB LPDDR2 memory looks more than sufficient.

Available in two colors - gold and silver, the LG Watch Urbane features a dust and water resistant body. Its always-on ambient mode shows the time at all times in dimmed mode, saving battery life.
