LG Watch Urbane Android Wear Smartwatch Goes Up For Sale In India For Rs. 29,990

Ever since Google released the Android Wear platform for wearables, electronics manufacturers have ditched their own operating systems and opted for this standard platform, especially LG Electronics who seems to launching a new Android Wear smartwatch every quarter. At the Mobile World Congress in February LG had LG Watch Urbane Blends Advanced Features With Classic Looks In A Smartwatch its most expensive luxury smartwatch that has now taken over the world and is being pegged as Android’s answer to the Apple Watch. The LG Watch Urbane is now in India and it can be yours for Rs. 29,990. The LG Watch Urbane has made its debut on Amazon and will be available from other online retailers and brick and mortar shops soon. The USP of the LG Watch Urbane is its looks. This Android Wear smartwatch is round in shape and is sold in Gold and Silver variants with genuine leather bands. This makes it a must buy for high flying executives who were previously repulsed by smartwatches due to their plastic build and unconventional square displays. LG has stuck a 1.3-inch P-OLED display on the Watch Urbane that is always-on and can be easily viewed in bright sunlight. Underneath the hood the Korean company has included innards that would put 4 year old smartphones to shame. We have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 512 MB of RAM running Android Wear. The smartwatch has an internal memory of 4GB and can even work as a standalone device thanks to its Wi-Fi capabilities.


A 9-axis PPG (Photoplethysmogram) sensor measures your heartbeat and tracks your exercise routine. LG Watch Urbane is IP67 dust and water resistant (up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes). Since it has backing of Google you can invoke all “Ok, Google” commands that you are familiar with on your smartphone. The LG Watch Urbane can be paired with smartphones running Android 4.3 or higher using Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy. The LG Watch Urbane promises an all day experience with its 410mAh battery.
