Lawless Rocket Electric Drag Bike Breaks The 200Mph Barrier In 6.94 Seconds! Whoa!

#-Link-Snipped-# finds himself amidst records again, this time for steering a Lawless Electric Rocket from zero initial speed to 201.37 mph (324 km/h) in a run 402 meters that spanned 6.94 seconds, thus creating a new National Electric Drag Racing Association record.

Setting records is not new for the Rocket, with the earlier record set at the Virginia Motorsports Park near Petersburg, VA, where the speed of 177 mph (284 km/h) was attained in 7.469 seconds using a 363V variant of the drag bike in September 2010. During then, the team was still looking for ways to boost the horsepower at the pavement, that would enable the vehicle to reach 200mph. They did find the way, in the just-developed 355V/14.2kWh Li-ion battery pack weighing 268 pounds (121 kg) and loading 1,350 hp, built by Derek Barger of High Tech Systems. Shawn Lawless has now upped his goal to 255 mph (410 km/h) within 6 seconds.
