Lava QPAD R704 Price And Specs Out At Launch In India

LAVA International Limited has launched a brand new Android tablet in India with Lava QPAD R704 targeted at students as well as working professionals. If we look at the competition, the QPAD R704 has some big gun rivals in the industry. To name a few under Rs. 10,000 segment, the prominent ones are the recently launched Dell Venue 7, Lenovo IdeaTab, HCL Me, Asus FonePad 7 and Xolo PlayTab 7.0. Though the company believes that their new tab is competitively priced at Rs. 8,499, the tablet has a lot to catch up to in terms of offering best in class specifications.

To begin with, the Lava QPAD R704 features a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad Core processor and supports High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC). Back in April, the company had launched Lava QPad E704 Tablet In India - 7-inch Android With Dual SIM & Voice Calling At Rs. 9999, which was priced a bit higher. The company shares in a press release that the new R704 is a significant improvement on the E704 tab. For starters, the 7-inch screen on the R704 has an IPS Display with HD resolution. Supporting a single 3G SIM Card, the Android Jelly bean 4.3 OS running tablet, is packed with all connectivity options, including - Wi-Fi, 3G connectivity, Bluetooth, EDGE and 2G. Under the hood, the QPAD R704 is loaded with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB.

Apart from these basic feature set, the QPAD R704 tablet comes equipeed with Snapdragon Audio for rich 3D surround sound and the Qualcomm Interference Cancellation and Equalization (Q-ICE) is said to boost the tab's network capacity for an enhanced user experience. Powered by a 3,500 mAh battery, the tablet is said to deliver about 300 hours of standby time and 10 hours talk time. Thanks to what the company has named "Qualcomm Quick Charge technology" the tablet is said to have 30% faster charging. In the camera department however, the tablet has very little to impress. On the rear end, the QPAD R704 features a 2MP primary camera, whereas on the front, there's a 0.3 MP snapper for video calling.

With that we come to the end of the specs list for the new android tablet in India. The homegrown company has already started selling the tab across all retail stores and multi-brand outlets throughout India. What are your views about the new Lava device? Share with us in comments below.
