Lava IRIS 503 and IRIS 402 Launched - Specs, Features & Price Unveiled

Lava has launched two new smartphones in its IRIS series today with Lava Iris 503 and Lava Iris 402 at the India Telecom 2013 event in New Delhi. Both smartphones are an addition in the mid-budget range and run the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. The Lava IRIS 503 smartphone is priced at Rs. 9,999 and is available on Flipkart at a discounted price of Rs. 8599. Whereas the Lava IRIS 402 is priced at Rs. 5,499 and is available on Flipkart at a Rs. 200 discount. The Lava Iris 503 is the successor to the Iris 502 and is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core processor. Sporting a Dual SIM (GSM+GSM) functionality, the Iris 503 features a 5-inch qHD (540x960) IPS display and a 512MB of RAM.

On the rear end of the smartphone, you'll find a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera with BSI sensor and LED flash, while on the front side, there's a 1.2-megapixel camera just above the screen. The smartphone comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. Running on a 2000mAh battery, connectivity options on the Lava Iris 503 include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ AGPS and 3G. The phone comes with additional options such as Low Battery Mode, Night Mode, Data Backup through Android, Calendar, Alarm, Calculator, Sound Recorder, FOTA and many games.

Coming to the Lava Iris 402 features, we have a 4-inch Multi Finger Capacitive WVGA (480×800 pixels) Touchscreen and a 1.2 GHz Dual Core Processor. This is a 3G phone and comes with WiFi support and has Dual SIM (3G + 2G) facility. On the rear end there's a 3 megapixel camera with flash and 4x Digital Zoom and on the front side there's a 0.3 megapixel one for making video calls and taking self pictures. The camera features Panorama, Geo-tagging, Smile Detection, Flash Support and Fixed Focus. The 1500mAh battery offers 7 hours of 2G Talktime and 5 hours of 3G talktime. On the storage front, we have 512 MB of internal memory and 256 MB RAM expandable upto 32 GB via MicroSD card.
