Lava A82: Just Another Way To Enjoy Android Lollipop For Cheap

After unveiling Lava A79: Front 2MP Camera With Flash & Android Lollipop For Rs. 5699 and Lava A48 With Android Lollipop OS & Dated Specs Spotted Online in quick succession last month, the Indian smartphone manufacturer has put up a new smartphone for sale called the Lava A82. The Lava A82 is just another Android smartphone from a local manufacturer set in the entry level segment to attract the budget conscious crowd. The Lava A82 costs just Rs. 5299 according to the company website but the street price is around Rs. 4550. The Lava A82 sports a bland blue exterior and has white metallic paint edges around the body to enhance its looks. The Lava A82 possesses moderate specs that would please only the first time smartphone user.

The Lava A82 has a 5inch FWVGA (800 x 480 pixels) resolution display that is as expected not covered with any protective glass. The lower FWVGA resolution instead of the usual HD one makes for dull pictures owing to low pixel density of the screen. Underneath the hood of the Lava A82 we have an unspecified chipset that houses a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. We have an internal memory of 8GB out of which a major chunk is taken over by the Android 5.1 (Lollipop) operating system and preinstalled apps. You can use a microSD card to expand the storage as long as it is up to 32GB.

When it comes to cameras on the Lava A82, there is some good news. The rear 5MP camera and the front 2MP camera are both equipped with LED flashes to light up dimly lit photos. It is quite surprising to see a front flash on a Rs. 5K smartphone. The Lava A82 is powered by a 2000mAh battery that can enable it to last for nearly a day of average use. Connectivity options on the Lava A82 include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microUSB. The only sensor we find on the smartphone is an accelerometer. The smartphone measures 144 x 72.7 x 9 mm and weighs 142grams. The Lava A82 comes with a one year warranty.
