Amazon has today started shipping its best selling HD tablet - The Kindle Fire HD 8.9". On this special occasion, we thought we would take a quick look at the specs. So, here you go - Kindle Fire HD's 8.9 inch screen has a 1920x1200 resolution with a 254 ppi display. Powered by the TI OMAP 4470 processor and GX544 graphics engine, Kindle Fire HD featuress dual antenna, dual-band Wi-Fi with MIMO that promises good download speeds. Users get Dolby Digital Plus sound with the dual stereo speakers and Amazon boasts of a battery life of 10 hours - that remains to be seen to be believed. There is one front-facing HD camera and you do get Amazon-exclusive features like X-Ray for Movies, X-Ray for Textbooks, Immersion Reading, Whispersync for Voice and Whispersync for Games. Amazon is surely showing off its 2.2 mm thin 4G wireless modem that combines the most power-efficient LTE chipset. Teaming up with AT&T, Amazon offers the 4G tablet data package at only $49.99.
