iPod Celebrates Decade Of Success!

iPod, the very first model in the range of iconic super style and user friendly interface has achieved ten years of glory. When the iPod was launched, it was neither the first such concept nor the smallest design. It didn't even have very high hard drive space. [​IMG]But the still it emerged to be the best, leading far ahead than the existing CDs. iPod has been one of the reasons for the fame of Apple. It is now available in various designs ranging from smaller designs to touch screens.

The third generation of the music player was launched in the year 2003. The first iPod was launched by Steves Job on 23rd October 2001. It contained around 1000 songs in the moveable player. There have been many competitors in the field, but iPod has its unique place. It holds a special mark as it heads towards the second decade of success. Statistics reveal that more than 300 million iPods have been sold all around the world so far. All other company’s developing iPods have failed to offer the ease as offered by Apple.

By the year 2010, Apple announced that it has sold more than 10 billion songs.  iTunes has been the back bone in the success of iPod. Apple first carved the way for the touch screen technology. Initially iPod had a storage capacity of 10 GB, that could contain 2500 sound tracks, but with further advancement in technology, the maximum capacity is now 64 GB. iPod also provides a good gaming medium and is one of the most famous gadgets of great music legends. Advancement has been continuously made in the various ranges of iPods advancing to thinner size and improved battery life. Presently Apple iPod offers a storage capacity of 160 GB.
