Intex iRist Smartwatch Features, Price And All You Need To Know

Intex Technologies has ventured into a new territory by launching its own wearable gadget called the 'Intex iRist Smartwatch'. Unveiled by the company at the MWC Shanghai event, the iRist smartwatch is powered by Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS and incidentally that makes Intex the first Indian company to launch an Android Smartwatch. There are a lot of good features that this gadget boasts of, but first let's get to the pricing. The iRist is priced at Rs. 11,999, which is cheaper than Moto 360, but costlier when compared to Sony and LG smartwatches. So, let's find out if Intex iRist smartwatch features offer value for money and if it can stand tall in the increasingly competitive wearable gadget market in India.

Running on a 1.2 GHz Dual Core MediaTek MT6572 processor, the iRist smartwatch comes with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal memory which is expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card.

The 1.56 inch OLED display features a 240 x 240 pixel resolution and a sapphire glass protection. Intex proudly shares that the iRist's body is dust and water resistant and therefore you do not need to think twice about wearing it outside in bad weather. The dimensions of the smartwatch are 44 x 44 x 14mm and it weighs just 83g.

A big 600 mAh battery on the iRist will keep your smartwatch alive for most part of the day without you running after the charger sockets. The battery is said to offer up to 240 mins of talk time and up to 200h standby.

Inbuilt GPS support lets users search for a location and Intex iRist can act as your personal navigator. An inbuilt pedometer lets you keep a track of every step you take and measure every calorie you shed.

Interestingly, there's a 5 megapixel camera on board the Intex iRist smartwatch using which you can capture photos by just a flick of your wrist. The iRist supports 720 pixel video capturing as well.

Available in 3 vibrant color options: Black, Orange and Pink, the iRist smartwatch comes with Bluetooth 4.0 support as well as 3G and WiFi connectivity. When you sync your phone with the smartwatch, it will display all your contact list, missed calls and messages right on your wrist.

ist comes in Black, Orange and Pink colors and is priced at Rs. 11,999. It will go on sale early August and will be available exclusively from eBay.in initially. Keshav Bansal, Director, Intex Technologies, seemed excited about introducing a different category of products to their audience. Whether or not the Intex iRist clicks with the buyers is a mystery only time will solve.
