Intex Aqua Secure: Fingerprint Sensor, 64bit Quad Core Processor & VoLTE for Rs. 6,499

It is a new week and just like clockwork Intex Technologies have launched a new smartphone. This time though they have put in a little extra effort to make the smartphone look and work good. The Intex Aqua Secure is one of the cheapest smartphones in the market to feature a fingerprint sensor. It is also the first smartphone from the company to sport a fingerprint sensor. Just like most smartphone manufacturers, Intex have added the fingerprint sensor on the back just below the camera sensor. The fingerprint sensor can be used to unlock the smartphone, click selfies and lock and unlock apps on the smartphone. Intex have gone for a smaller 4.5inch FWVGA (480 x 854 pixels) resolution display on the Aqua Secure that supports five finger touch. The pixels per inch figure stands at 217 and the screen to bezel ratio is 60%. The display on the Intex Aqua Secure does not have protective glass cover.

Underneath the hood of the Intex Aqua Secure we have a MediaTek MT6735 SoC that was previously seen on the company’s Intex Cloud Fame Offers Android Marshmallow and 4G Connectivity On A Budget, #-Link-Snipped-# and #-Link-Snipped-# smartphones. The MediaTek MT6735 SoC houses a 64-bit 1.3GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor, ARM Mali-T720 GPU and 1GB of LPDDR3 RAM which is sufficient to run the slightly dated Android Lollipop. It is surprising to see that Intex has opted for Android Lollipop even though some of its cheaper smartphones sport Android Marshmallow.

The internal memory of the Intex Aqua Secure stands at 8GB out of which 4.18GB remains vacant for the user to install apps. You can use microSD cards of up to 32GB to expand the storage on the Intex Aqua Secure. When it comes to cameras on the Intex Aqua Secure things go quickly downhill for the smartphone we have a 5MP sensor on the rear with dual LED flash and a front 2MP cameras for your selfies. InFocus is offering you much better rear and front cameras on its cheaper InFocus Bingo 20: Selfie Camera With Flash, 4G LTE & Android Lollipop For Rs. 5749.

When it comes to connectivity, the Intex Aqua Secure scores some points as it supports Voice over LTE that enables you to make HD quality voice calls over cellular networks. Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB and GPS navigation. The smartphone houses gravity, light and proximity sensors. The Intex Aqua Secure is preloaded with apps like Clean Master, Freecharge, Folio, God of Combat, Goibibo, Hike messenger, iStore, Intex Service, Magic Store, Newshunt, OLX, Opera Max, Opera Mini and Saavn.

The Intex Aqua Secure which will be sold in golden and grey colour variants is powered by a 1900mAh battery that offers five to six hours of talk time and 180 to 200 hours of standby. The Intex Aqua Secure like most Intex smartphones will be available in online as well as brick and mortar shops. The smartphone will arrive in stores in a few days from now and the company has high hopes that it will do well.
