Intel Unveils Newer Version Of Its 3D Depth RealSense Camera

One of the world's largest chipmakers, Intel announced a smaller and slimmer model of a camera based on its RealSense technology. Intel's RealSense technology helps your camera in capturing hand to head movements and adjusting its lens to provide perfect focus on photos after they have been triggered. It provides depth information for photos with gesture controls. Intel has already put this technology in flying drones and used it for face detection in video calls. This technology was earlier used in smartphones and now Intel has come up with this new version which can make smartphone cameras snap more elegant pictures. At the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) in Shenzhen, China, this new version of Intel's 3D Depth Realsense camera was unleashed at the hands of CEO Brian Krzanich.

The new camera from Intel is so small that it can be easily fitted into a 6 inches (15.2 cms) smartphone. It is said to have a lower thermal output in comparison to the previous model. This latest version of the 3D depth camera was launched in collaboration with a Chinese firm JD. The technology was demonstrated with a table equipped with RealSense 3D depth camera which is said to have long range detection. Later, a Windows 10 tablet was used as well to demonstrate this product to show its face recognition capabilities.

Intel hasn't yet announced specifications of this product. However, experts compare its sensors to be worthy of making it a rival to Microsoft's Kinect motion-and-image sensor. What do you think about this new version of RealSense camera? Post your thoughts in the comments section below.
