Indian Post Office Is Digital, Offers Web 2.0 Experience

The #-Link-Snipped-# is now digital and offers web 2.0 experience. The ePost Office aka ePO has been redesigned with McKinsey & NIC with over 1 billion USD budget for over 3-4 years. One common thing with all Indian Government Websites that they are totally ugly, except for the recent IRCTC makeover. Heavy use of blue and white colors with flashing 'new' tags is what most of them offer. The e Post Office website isn't fully functional yet (got a 'Server Error / in Application, while trying to send a feedback) but hopefully they'll improve it as soon as possible. The website heavily relies on Adobe Photoshop for the front end which isn't a really good thing. McKinsey should have opted for HTML 5. But hey, are we thinking Web 3? Come on, I tried to access few points on the virtual post office and it takes lot of time to for the animation to zoom. I doubt whether this is going to improve the  experience for users with slower connection speeds.

The website offers e-services like Electronic Money Order, Instant Money Order, Trace & Track, Pin Code Search and other stuff like Philately, Information etc. Few of the links direct the users to https://www.indiapost.gov.in/ which is functional but far from being redesigned.

What do you think about the new Indian e Post Office? Share your feedback with us.
