How Do Banks Differ From Each Other?

Given that RBI controls banking in India (...and to some extent ministry of finance), how can one differentiate between banks of same class? Like two or more Nationalised banks, two or more private sector banks, two or more multi-state scheduled banks, two or more cooperative banks etc?

Does the logic that you are about to give also applies to banks all over the world?

One more-
Is there any explanation why lower currencies like 1 Rupee is printed by Ministry of finance while other monetary denominations are issued/ minted by RBI?

Good Morning #-Link-Snipped-#. I only wish to know "How to differentiate a bank from others" eg., SBI Vs Canara. What are the key indicators that reflect the performance of bank?
What makes a particular bank excel among its peers?

#-Link-Snipped-#, the issue is customer satisfaction.
In my opinion Canara Bank has a poor track record in this. SBI on the other hand has become very supportive. Even private banks like HDFC fail in this.
