GoPro Unveils Hero+, Its Cheapest Camera With Wireless Connectivity

GoPro, the brand leader in action cameras has launched the Hero+, the $199.99 (Rs. 13,250) action camera with wireless connectivity. In the recent past you could get a GoPro Hero for the same price but you had to forego wireless connectivity. With Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity on the Hero+ it is possible to pair it with your smartphone or tablet and use the GoPro app to operate the camera controls, preview the video and edit it before sharing it on social networks from the app itself. Unlike the previous model, the GoPro Hero which restricted the frame rate of the recording to 30fps, the Hero+ allows you to shoot either 1080p Full HD videos at 60fps or 720p HD videos at 60fps. User modes like QuikCapture, SuperView and Auto Low Light have been included on the Hero+.

When it comes to still photo capture, the Hero+ has a larger 8MP sensor rather than a 5MP sensor found on its predecessor. On the Hero+ you can enable the time lapse mode that can automatically capture photos at time intervals ranging from 0.5 to 60 seconds. Since GoPro and action shots go hand in hand, the company has made sure that you can capture still action images too with the burst mode that shoots 5 photos in a single second. Just like all GoPro cameras, the Hero+ is designed to be rugged and has a waterproof casing that enables it to take dips in water for up to 40m. The GoPro Hero+ is powered by a user non-removable 1160mAh battery that can record videos for up to 2 hours and store them on a microSD memory card which has to be bought separately as always.

The GoPro Hero+ will have two variants, the one without the LCD screen on it will cost $199.99 (Rs. 13,250) and the one with LCD screen will cost you $299.99 (Rs. 19895). The GoPro Hero+ will go on sale globally from October 4th.
