Google Translate App For iOS Gets Handwriting Translation, New Look And Seven New Languages
As Apple fans globally welcome iOS 7 and new Apple devices like the not-so-cheap iPhone 5C and the iPhone 5S with fingerprint sensor, iOS apps too are getting a revamp. After unveiling a new look for its website Google has put up the new version (2.0) of its free Translate app on the iTunes Store. The new app can now translate up to 70 languages with the new additions being Bosnian, Cebuano, Hmong, Javanese, Khmer, Lao and Marathi. Keeping up with the iOS redesign, Google has redesigned the interface of the app as well. The new feature that has managed to grab our attention is its capability of accepting handwriting input for 49 languages.
In certain languages like Mandarin it is not easy type in the text because of the complexity of letters, but with this version of the Google Translate app all you have to do is draw the letters by hand and let Google will do the rest of the job. The previous features like speech translation, translation playback and offline storage of translated phrases are also present the new version.
