Google+ Hangouts Plugin For Microsoft Outlook Is Here For Business Video Calls

If you are a frequent user of both Microsoft Outlook and Google+ Hangouts, this is just the most awesome news you'll read during your office hours today. Google has launched the Google+ Hangouts plugin for Outlook. So, if you are 'Google Apps for Business' user, you will now be able to make video calls to anybody and everybody in your office. You can also use this plugin by asking the participants to join the video call from a Chromebox for meetings device. All you have to do is use the remote control to enter the video call name.

In order to join or schedule a Hangout directly from Outlook Mail and Calendar, you first need to get the Hangouts Plugin installed on your machine. Assuming that you have the privileges of an administrator on your machine, you can follow these steps - Open a browser and go to #-Link-Snipped-# and download the plugin. Once done, you can run the HangoutsOutlookPlugin.exe file to complete the installation.

If you have already installed the plugin, you will be able to see two new buttons (one for scheduled and the other for unscheduled video calls) in the Office Ribbon for Outlook Mail and Calendar. Everything else in the process is pretty much obvious. The plugin features inviting a number of internal participants who have Google Apps accounts in the same domain and external participants through invites. If you need to customize your video call setting from default to something else, you can click on New and go to 'Meeting request'. Here you will find the option of 'Hangout Settings' in the ribbon.

That's all about the features of Google+ Hangouts Plugin for Outlook. Do let us know your thoughts on the same in comments.

This is definitely a good news for the outlook (business) consumers.

However, I am still baffled that how come Microsoft allowed Google(competitor) to integrate with one of its product when they have recently integrated the skype with the webmail (and outlook).
This is surely goona hit skype.

Meanwhile, any one got a chance to try their hand on outlook-Google+ ?
