Gmail For Android App Update Brings Save To Google Drive, Spam Reasons And More

If you are using an Android smartphone, chances are high that you are using Google's native Gmail app quite frequently. Well, with the latest update, the Gmail app for Android has received a bunch of quite useful features to boast off. The first and foremost feature of the new update is the 'Save to Google Drive' option. Using it users can save attachments directly to Google Drive. Earlier the attachments in your emails would get downloaded to your device, eating up precious memory space. With Google Drive integration, files once saved can be accessed via phone, tablet or PC.

Another addition is a feature called 'Spam explanations'. Whenever an important email from your client, customer of a close friend lands up in spam, you get frustrated wondering how it went to that folder. Well, now Google is ready to explain why it considers a certain message as spam. Next one up the line is 'Improved RTL support' - This means you can read the languages that are written right-to-left (For ex - Arabic, Persian and Hebrew) the way they are supposed to. Gmail on Android will automatically adjust the design to put the profile pictures and the navigation menu on the right instead of the left, so that you find it comfortable reading text from right to left.

Last up the queue is a basic feature that gives you 'Faster access to the side navigation menu'. Now users swipe from the left edge (or right edge for RTL languages) to quickly access their accounts and labels while reading an important mail. As you can see from the screenshot below, users will also find Settings, Help, and Feedback in the side menu.

Google has promised that all the new features in the latest update will be rolled out over the next few days. The app is available for download on the #-Link-Snipped-#.

Along with given features the new release of Gmail app will allow following-

    - User can automatically see the Images as soon as he/she opens the email
    - Facility to set up vacation responder (something similar to out of office assistant of Microsoft)

There are few android specific updates as well. - users having Android 4.3+ will enjoy attaching multiple files at once. However users having Android 4.4 are giving additional feature of Print emails and attachments as well.

Take a note that, this update of Gmail app is valid only for android 4.0 and up and users with lower android may not be able to use these.
