Gionee S Plus With USB Type-C Port Arrives In India Ahead Of Diwali

Just ahead of Diwali, Gionee India has introduced its latest smartphone the 'Gionee S Plus' in the country. It is being said that the phone will be made available in this week. No exclusive e-commerce partner has been declared as of now. The phone could be a successor to the company's previous Gionee S5.1 Pro as the specs are more or less the same and the only difference is that in the screen size. The official global pricing is $260 which makes India pricing at Rs. 16,999 just fair. Let's take a look at the Gionee S Plus features and find out if its worth the price or not.

Featuring a big 5.5 inch AMOLED Display well protected with Gorilla Glass 3, the Gionee S Plus comes with 3 GB RAM and a 1.3 GHz Octa Core Cortex A 53 (MT6753) processor coupled with Mali T720 graphics unit.

A 3150 mAh battery power this phone. Gionee S Plus is a Dual SIM device with support for 4G-LTE connectivity. On its rear end is a 13 megapixel camera, whereas the front has a 5 megapixel snapper.

The phone's 16 GB internal storage can be expanded via a microSD card slot. A major USP of the phone is that it features an USB Type-C port - the reversible-plug connector for USB devices and USB cabling. With all that, the smartphone maintains a thickness of just 7.5 mm.

Powered by the Android Lollipop OS, the Gionee S Plus smartphone comes with an Amigo launcher on top. Some of the unique features of the phone include face recognition, so users can unlock the phone by clicking a selfie.
