Genneo Converts Your Movement Into Power For Your Smartphone

A group of Engineers, Designers and Product Developers have come together under the name Genneo to bring a a new device that converts human motion into power for USB charged electronic devices such as cell phones, cameras and tablets. Therefore, you now never have to struggle because lack of power or charging ports for your mobile. Genneo has created a revolutionary line of products that capture energy from walking, running or shaking - that can be used to charge all your gadgets on the go. The Genneo generator is portable and can be carried easily in your pocket. Once you start moving, the movements will be converted to energy, which is stored in the on-board battery.

If you’re in a hurry, they are also optimized for fast charging when shaken, multiplying the charging rate by 20 or more. They can also be pre-charged like auxiliary batteries with the added advantage of keeping themselves topped-off as they are carried. The device includes a micro USB port and comes with a pre charging cable with a standard USB connection on the other side; that cable allows you to plug in one end into Genneo and the other end into your mobile device. An LED battery gauge shows how much battery power Genneo has left.

Coming in two models - G3000 and G4000 named after the 3000 mAH and 4000 mAH battery that the devices carry respectively, the Genneo generators deliver up to 1 hour of talk time for every 5 hours you carry it around and 2-3 minutes of talk time every time it is shaken. Since the gadget is meant to be carried around, Genneo has launched a number of accessories too. These include - A heavy duty neoprene protective sleeve with belt loop and handle OR an Energy Kit that also contains USB Adapter cable, USB LED Light and a neoprene. There's also an option of Power Kit that bundles up Pelican Storm Case, 5 Genneo G4000's, 5 USB Adapter cables, 5 USB LED Lights and 5 neoprene protective sleeves. Something you would like to carry if a zombie apocalypse hits, may be?

A few more details about the Kickstarter project -

To use our own energy to power our phones, the team researched researched different kinds of generators and read dozens of patents.
A linear generator, not a rotating one, could have been a solution owing to our bodily movements. But linear generators are historically inefficient and don’t generate much power.

Putting physics and electrical engineering at work, Blake L Isaacs & Daniel Mota Veiga combined their technical know-how with efficient form factor, ergonomics and usability guidelines - to build the Genneo mobile power generator.
