Flipboard Web Browser App Is Here To Take Advantage Of The Larger Screens

The famous new aggregator app Flipboard that has been available for the mobile platforms iOS, Android and Windows all along, has now arrived for your desktop. The folks behind the app have launched 'Flipboard For The Web' via Flipboard.com so that users can access their Flipboard mobile content from their browsers. The Flipboard web app not only makes use of a scrolling interface to suit a large screen size, but also displays smooth running animations and more importantly full bleed images that look beautiful on a bigger screen. All articles will have 'topics' feature that have more than 30,000 options ranging from "action hero" to "zoology". Users can click on "follow" every time they want to add something to their Flipboard.

The Daily Edition feature, that can be accessed every morning, is a curated roundup of top headlines in news, business, tech, sports and culture, along with some fun elements. The team has put up algorithms to recommend topics and magazines you might like (based on your interests) in modules throughout the site. The Flipboard Editor feature can be used to manage your magazines from a convenient dashboard. Users can rearrange and delete items, set covers and share magazines with friends. For Google Chrome users, there's an extension named 'Flip it' that lets you add a Flip Button that makes it easy for users to flip content of your website into their magazines.

The regular Flipboard users have all reasons to rejoice as they have been demanding for a web version for quite some time now. Tech blogs have reported that the Flipboard web browser app feels like a combo of Pinterest & a RSS reader. When you flip stories into magazines, it's more Pinterest-like and whe you skim through the publications to see what you've missed, it feels more RSS-reader-like. So far, many Flipboard users have started using the web version and are loving the new design.
