DISASTER MANAGEMENT VEHICLES
Project Abstract / Summary : BACKGROUND :
Disaster management team has the responsibility to help and rescue the stranded persons. In a flood hit area, it may require a long time for authorities to get evacuation shelters fully up and functional. During this time, evacuees may suffer fairly primitive conditions; no clean water, heat, lights, toilet facilities, or shelter. In case of an emergency rescue situation, it is important to have an emergency evacuation vehicle prepared to maintain a level of degree of comfort.
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM : An idea is proposed to make a disaster management vehicle(for flood) owned by individuals, which has an ability to float on water and is electrical vehicle having a self-server to operate worldwide
PRESENT METHOD OF TACKLING THE PROBLEM :
1.In a flood hit area, the relief and rescue operations are carried by the defense forces. Helicopters help the people to get to a safer place. They are all controlled by military and NGO`s.
2. CNG vehicles are used to cut the costs of petrol.
3. High quality Electrical Vehicles not available in INDIA.
4. Battery refueling Stations not available.
PROPOSED SOLUTION :
1. The individuals remain helpless in the localities till disaster management strategy is not planned by the disaster management teams. A disaster management vehicle will enable the victims to get to a safer place quickly rather than waiting for the disaster management teams to arrive.
2. CNG as fuel is very efficient but CNG is trapped when fossil fuels are removed from earths crust. The purpose of saving fossil fuels is not solved.
3. GPS navigation system for all the DMV`s connected to a single connection to satellite giving nearest safer place. It will also be capable of sending the vehicle's current location information to the main operating control room. Basic immediate needs like availability of food, medical help and shelter at nearby places will be sent to the vehicle.
NOVELTY OF APPROACH :
Relief and rescue teams at times take days to reach a badly hit flood area. The food package distribution helicopters have to search for the stranded people in order to deliver the food. It gets hazardous for heath if people stay in dirty water when there is no dry place to stay on. Hence a disaster management vehicle allows you to be safe during water logging. It has special inbuilt provisions for medicines and food preservation .
Internal combustion engines, which burn fuels derived from the element carbon, produce several byproducts, primarily carbon dioxide, water, and the tiny particles of matter that we refer to as soot. The soot, when ejected into air breathed by humans, can cause asthma, lung cancer, and other diseases. In addition, most scientists believe that increased amounts of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere contribute to global warming, which could eventually cause damaging climatic changes over much of our planet. Today every now and then there is a hike in petrol n diesel prices. If the fuel use itself is cut and replaced by something which is under the scope of common man, there will be good chance of people using it. Also, the fuels are conserved. If we consider from environment point of view fossil fuels pollute environment when burnt but, no such problem with water as fuel. Thus an ECO FRIENDLY AND ECONOMICAL vehicle which is completely comfortable and uses ELECTRICITY instead of petrol or diesel.
Why did you choose to work on this project topic : THIS RESEARCH STARTED IN 2013 AFTER THE UTTRAKHAND FLOODS IN INDIA .
A LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE DIED AND MANY MORE WENT MISSING . ALL THE PEOPLE OVER THERE WERE NOT ABLE TO TAKE ANY URGENT EVACUATION PLAN . AND HAD TO WAIT FOR THE ARMY , NGO`s TO HELP THEM OUT . WHICH RESULTED IN TIME WASTE .
SO WE DECIDED TO PUT FORWARD AN ALTERNATIVE WAY OF TAKING THE RESCUE BY USING A FULLY EQUIPPED DISASTER MANAGEMENT VEHICLE (DMV).
