Color App New Version - Users Can Host Broadcast Live On Facebook

The older version of Color App failed miserably. Since then the founders (Bill Nguyen's team) are making changes to the app. The Color App that launched yesterday gives an interesting facility to the users. It lets users host live broadcast on Facebook. Once hosted, the user's friends can see set of moving pictures of the place you have shared.

Users have to start a broadcast or more to-the-term “visit” and your Facebook wall will be updated with it. If the user's friends are online at Facebook at that moment, they will be able to take a glimpse into the broadcast then & there. A series of thumbnail is posted on the users timeline. Clicking on a thumbnail will show you a 30-second preview of the area. It's important to note that it is not a "video" that you are sharing, so there is no audio involved. Users don't have to bother about narrating the event. Moreover, if you have friends using the Color App,  they will receive a push notification telling them that you are hosting a visit right now. Whereas, if they are not online, they can always check it back later on.

Another good news is that Color app works over 3G, something you don't have with Facetime. Currently, the app has certain low points, that we hope the company recovers from soon. With Facebook Open Graph API rolling out in future, Color will be adding more features to the app.

I am wondering why is this app called 'Color'. If you know the reason, let me know through the comments. Meanwhile, take a look at a video from Color on How to start a broadcast -

The app will roll out in last weeks of December for Android & iPhone. We will be able to talk more about it then.
