CNC Based Writing Robot And Milling Machine

Project Abstract / Summary :
  • This project is based on a CNC machine that was designed and built by us.
  • This robot has multiple applications, it can write on a sheet of paper in human handwriting and as well it has a built in power tool for milling.
  • This robot is remote controlled and as well bluetooth controlled and it can change tools between the writing mechanism and the milling tool.
  • The writing mechanism and the milling tool is designed by us
  • This robot is powered by two 8-bit AVR RISC-based micro-controller.
  • This robot has 5 DOF for the milling tool and 6 DOF for the writing mode
  • All stepper motors in CNC machine are synchronized ,and controlled based on derived mathematical expressions for the 3 Degree motion.Mathematical expressions were formulated according to the needs of situation (For Ex:To make the writing mechanism write the letter 'o' we had to generate mathematical expressions based on graphical method. )
  • The milling tool and the writing mechanism will be placed on a platform adjacent to the Z-axis,according to the need either the milling tool or the writing mechanism is automatically locked to the z-axis where the precision of locking is controlled based on laser guide detector.

Why did you choose to work on this project topic : We wanted to make a single layered pcb machine based on milling techinque,then we extended the project to write on any book or sheets of paper.By this we build our own pcbs and as well write our records.
