ClickStick Smart Deodorant Applicator: Getting Rid Of Body Odour The Smart Way

In this era of “Internet of Things”, innovators keep adding smart capabilities to almost any electronic device. They started with lights, refrigerators, microwave ovens, fire alarm, garage doors and then ventured into locks, mailbox, seat cushions and gloves. Now we have Gilad Arwatz from New Jersey, USA who has put a high-tech twist on our day-to-day battle with body odour. Meet ClickStick, the world’s first smart deodorant applicator. ClickStick works with any deodorant of your choice and refills can be ordered automatically or manually from its companion smartphone app. ClickStick is designed to deliver the right amount of deodorant to the exact place to avoid stains and skin irritations. ClickStick stores personal data like height, weight, age and activity levels to determine the amount and frequency of deodorant application. If you forget to apply deodorant, ClickStick reminds you with a notification on the Android or iOS smartphone app.

ClickStick prevents accidental spillage with the help of its cap activated power switch. The makers of ClickStick claim that it is a green alternative to conventional deodorants as you pour in the refills into the same plastic container every time eliminating the need of new bottles. The project is now seeking funds at Kickstarter. In a matter of four days they have managed to garner funds of up to $19,946 against their funding goal of $50,000. While the project might seem like a good idea there are certain cons associated with it. For starters, ClickStick just like any other smart gadget is expensive. Even with an early backer discount you have to shell out $19 (1,168 INR). Retail prices are expected to start at $26 (1,599 INR). Next you have the futuristic looking blue, pink or green LED lights fitted to ClickStick. Why would you want lights on your deodorant stick?
