Chrome OS Style Desktop Enviroment : Budgie Desktop (Evolve OS)

Budgie Desktop has reached to version 2.0 recently. Budgie, the Mutter based desktop environment looks similar to that of ChromeOS that is shipped only in Chromebooks. Unlike other DE it is not fork of GNOME or KDE, this DE simply sits on GNOME & delivers ChromeOS experience to Linux users.

As soon as I get free time, I will most probably boot Fedora & compile Budgie DE, just to see what more features this awesome ChromeOS alike DE is offering.
If any of CEan would like to try this DE in their testing machine, here's the source code : #-Link-Snipped-#

Here's the one image from my test. Very minimal.

Testing Alpha-4 build of Evolve OS. No codecs included. No necessary applications like PDF viewer, media player, etc. are included for now. Performance wise it is very fast as it is very minimal.

    • Consumes only 220 MB of RAM
    • Uses pisi package to update (which is way to simple & easy)
    • Gives chrome OS like feeling
    • Unlike other OS it's not fork of GNOME
