Carplane Light Sport Aircraft - German Engineering

The future of everyday transport lies in eco-friendly vehicles that not only run on the roads, but also fly in the air. The pace at which engineers are advancing in the dual-mode vehicles domain, it won't be too far in the future where we'll get stuck in air several meters above the ground. We recently informed you about legendary aircraft designer #-Link-Snipped-# #-Link-Snipped-# - a bimodal vehicle. We are happy to introduce a German answer to BiPod and it's called "Carplane".

Carplane Germany

Carplane has been designed by a small team of engineers located at Germany's Research airport in Braunschweig. To overcome the challenges faced by a vehicle which has to operate both on ground and in air, Carplane uses several innovative techniques. While on the road, the Carplane functions as an electric-vehicle. While taking off, it uses premium fuel and operates at lower RPMs which ensures lower consumption, reduced noise levels and emissions. The Carplane does 176km/h with its electric drive on ground and in the air-mode, it does 120kts. The innovations in design require landing and take-off roll of only 85 meters.

We promise to keep an eye on the development of Carplane. We believe bimodal electric vehicles is the future of transport. Check out this video demonstration of the Carplane. More information about Carplane can be obtained from #-Link-Snipped-#.
