BSNL, the leading telecom operator in India has launched a new smartphone in its champion series. It is named - 'BSNL Champion DM6513', an Android 4.2.2 Jellybean OS running smartphone, with the most basic features in a mega-sized screen. The phone cum phablet has a 6.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display and the underlying processor is a Dual Core one (unspecified chipset). The Single-SIM card support in the phone lets you connect to 3G and WCDMA 2100. BSNL lets users experience regional language support and web browsing. Using the toggle keyboard, users can switch easily between English language and any other language of their choice with a single swipe.
For taking snaps, there is a 5 megapixel camera on the rear end that features options such as drama shot and sound & shot. The front camera is a decent 2 megapixel one, useful for making video calls. There's a 3500mAh battery powering this smartphone and it offers a Talk Time of up to 4 hrs and a standby time of 62hrs. Among the connectivity options there's WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G. The 512 MB internal memory can be expanded up to 32GB and there's the facility for using G- Sensor and FM Radio with Recording.
The phone is available at a price of Rs. 6,999 on the official ChampionIndia website and at a discounted price of Rs. 5,990 on Flipkart. Earlier in January, BSNL had launched two other smartphones in its Champion series with My Phone SM3512 And SM3513 at a price of Rs. 3,225 and Rs. 4,499 respectively.
