This feature isn’t new as it has already been featured in Samsung’s Galaxy Gear (the first one). We hope that Apple take on waking up the watch is a bit streamlined than Samsung’s. You have widgets on the watch face that let you access information from your favourite app. Swiping up brings up snippets of information from apps and swiping down shows all your notifications. Just like other smartwatches, the Apple Watch brings up your messages and then allows you send replies with preset messages or Siri assisted voice replies. Apple stylises the watch by giving it animated emojis but those can be only sent to someone who already has an Apple Watch.

The Digital Touch is an option which is either really tacky or really cute depending on how you see it. You can draw doodles and send them your friend who also has an Apple Watch. You can send taps and most ridiculously the pattern of your heartbeat, cue any Hindi song about heart. If you think about it, you can send your heartbeat to your cardiologist for analysis.

While in other smartwatches you can change the watch faces, in the Apple Watch you can customise every watch face to your preferences. You can add app icons that you can bring up from the home screen.
