AMD C- and E-Series Fusion APUs For Notebooks, Ultrathins, All-in-Ones and Desktops

AMD's updated its C and E series fusion Accelerated Processing Units aka APUs for the notebooks, ultrathins, all-in-ones and desktop computers. The updated APUs promise greater and enhanced HD graphics handling capabilities, enhanced memory and performance boost, DisplayPort ++ capability and improved battery performance - about 4 hour improvement over previous platforms. The devices powered with updated APUs will be available from leading manufacturers from today.

Chris Cloran, AMD's VP and General Manager of client division said that current generation of PCs require stunning HD performance and graphics. "With these new APUs, we’re bringing premium features to entry-level products that let users get a richer computing experience," he said. The company has shipped over 12 million APUs and over 5 million C and E series APUs in Q2, 2011 alone.

Updated E-Series APUs feature:

    [*]DDR3 1333 support for enhanced memory bandwidth and faster performance and video playback.
    [*]HDMI 1.4a connections allow for viewing 3D pictures and home video on 3D-enabled TVs and displays.
