Samsung SAMOLED Plus Display

Samsung is one innovative company that's almost restless when it comes to beautiful displays. Samsung introduced AMOLED display followed by Super AMOLED display and now with the launch of 'Samsung Infuse 4G', they're going one step ahead in displays - Super AMOLED Plus display.

In simpler words, SAMOLED plus display is an upgrade to the first generation SAMOLED displays featured in Samsung Wave and Samsung Galaxy S phones. Super Active-Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode differs from other display screens in that it integrates the layer that detects the touch with the main display than being laid over it. This results in 20% brighter screen, 80% less sunlight reflection, 20% reduced power consumption.

The plus upgrade offers over 50% more sub-pixels and use RGB color matrix, not Pentile Matrix which was used in first generation. With around 300 pixels per inch, the screen has an improved resolution. Samsung says that the new technology would surpass Apple's Retina display technology.

The mobile and electronics companies are going bullish on offering better displays that perform well indoors and also in direct sunlight, reflect less light, offer great contrast and resolution. It would be interesting to watch this display war!
