Quantum Computing Materialized On Single Chip!

Recently Scientists at #-Link-Snipped-# were successful in creating a chip which was able to manipulate and generate the quantum condition and measure the entanglement between two #-Link-Snipped-#.

The device which will normally be of size of a dining table was materialized on a small chip of 70mm X3mm dimensions. The chip can do all sorts of functions required in the #-Link-Snipped-#. The technology so produced can perform more action than single specific tasks. Using this single chip, we can accomplish many computing aspects. The re-configurable chip is hence 10 times more complex than any other device used until now. The device is basically a re-configurable integrated quantum #-Link-Snipped-# with eight voltage controlled phase-shifters. Using these eight pins it is possible to mix a photon or observe a controlled entanglement of two photons that too with great fidelity.

The major application of the chip will be reduction of time of experiment, as a single chip can be used for achieving different quantum phenomenon. This will eventually lead to develop the quantum computers. In the research which was published in the journal Nature Photonics titled #-Link-Snipped-# the researchers talk about the entanglement concept very clearly. 

It was actually not a single day work. The researchers were able to achieve the breakthrough after a work of 6 years. However it is an essential thing to increase the complexity of the system so that more difficult problems can be dealt with on a single chip. Let us see how things turn out after this research.
