Panasonic's Android Rice Cooker At CES 2013 Is Simmering Hot!
After in-car entertainment systems and wristwatches, it is bound to raise some eyebrows in excitement to see Android OS being used in the most unusual places. And Panasonic’s SR-SX2, the electronic display is garnering just that. The open source platform of Android will now power a rice cooker so that users will shuffle through recipes from their smartphones and instruct the rice cooker to cook it. Interesting, isn't it? Launched at a retail price of $600 in Japan last year, this cooker sizzled the counters at CES 2013.
The cooker does more than just cook. It can display its electricity usage levels and information such as how to deal with different types of rice.
