Microsoft Lifebrowser - A Personal Approach To Your Digital Life
How many times have you wished that there should be a software which will summarize all your digital life in form of a single entity? Well, Microsoft Research is working on a project called “Lifebrowserâ€, which is intended to achieve the same. This software collects all the digital data of your life and presents it in a meaningful shape.
The software uses concept of data mining to dive into your personal data and transform all the information in a meaningful way. The software goes through all your personal data including your emails, photos, browsing histories, search histories, digital calendar and even content stored on you system. Based on this information it generates important landmark events. The information is presented in a form of timeline. The interface looks like a less furnished form Facebook’s timeline, but it contains a lot more information than that.
A person can possess a vast amount of digital data, but Lifebrowser takes help of Artificial Intelligence to find out the landmarks. You can navigate through all you history and see your whole digital life in front of your eyes. It also has a navigation control using which you can choose if you want to see more details about the events or not. Eric Horvitz, scientist at Microsoft Research and man behind the Lifebrowser said that the main aim here is to use the machine learning to make people’s digital life more personal. According to him they want to make local machines as local data mining centers so that they can dig about you and work for you as your memory aid.
