I read the discussion on the question; Pressure-Velocity relations in fluid, what causes the pressure drop.. My head hurts, but that was fun. That was great. So simplistically speaking, it seems no one really knows? It seems to me the only answer that can be is that the molecules compact closer for what ever reason. It's the only physical thing happening.

I opted out because the discussion is meandering. As many posted all that happens is that Bernoulli's Principle applies in a continuous flowing medium. That principle is just a statement of the law of conservation of energy to a flowing medium. In a gas what you say has to be considered. In an incompressible fluid Bernoulli's Principle holds as stated.

These students are looking but not engaging. How will they succeed if they can't speak their minds here where it's a low stress affair. How can you draw them out in these discussions of new ideas. Oh yes it's easy to post published material. It takes imagination to dream out of the box and create opportunities. I am not getting the best of India's future in feed back.

Well, as the saying goes,'you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.' You can give someone the opportunity to do something, but you cannot force them to do it if they do not want to I guess.

Ok I found a link and sent this em. So, we will see what she says.

      Christine Reilley at reilleyc@asme.org.

Are you still available for questions?

I am looking for an alternative means to store energy in a spring type application to drive a generator. What is the largest capacity to date achieved in this application. My intent is to power a small stove to to cook on. Thank you.

Excellent suggestion. Well lets see what the boys out there come up with. We will keep this to ourselves for now. Who's the best in to world on this technology. MIT is down the street from me. No one from universities every respond to my inquires . That's disheartening but I understand they have a reputation to keep.

AV The spring capacity size and weight is off. Can opposing magnets be used to store a reactive force in a controlled manner for release? These clock guys blew me out of the water. They were sharp but closed minded. Shame.

"spring' can be anything storing mech energy as such. Compressed air is one such 'Spring'. Easily converted to rotary motion by a simple 'motor'. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AIRPod

Sir, Could you help me find a clock works engineer that can assist me in building the escapement I need it to drive the discharge transmission on my spring wound battery.
Every thing I post here all comes back to the battery.

Dear Don, TTK Group, whose R&D chief I am, used to make Westclox spring wound clocks long back. This has been closed decades back. All the technical people are retired and many have passed away. I shall check with one of them still around. Please mail me: b i o r a m a n i (at)g mail(dot)c o m your email id and I shall link you up. Regards, Ramani

sir, found a free software for mind maps - its xmind . writing on paper is more convenient, but even this software is not bad!

Sure. But hand drawing helps because this involves attention and coordination. With software one's attention is more involved with the software.

        Missed this.
Precision machining, non traditional fabrication like electro chemical milling, laser machining, chemical milling, subtractive processes like chemical milling and additive processes like 3D printing are useful.

Computer aided inspection will be useful for practicing engineers.

Adavances in mechanical processes in other fields like civil engineering, mechatronics and such will add value.
        Regards,
        Ramani

My sincere apologies for not allowing your posts, sir. Late participants would have created more chaos. The debates will be more structured and better organised from next time.

      I'm really sorry.

Was away at 3. No problem, K. Watched all. Debates become semantic. Same word seen differently.
RTE covers Elementary Education (Reading, wRiting, aRithmetic). What about the mentally challenged? Nothing is free. It is the tax payers that pay.
Good start. Corners to be rounded.
What if each puts up a 100 word intro when first called up? Mean more 'meat' in archives. Debating skills can be seen from responses.

I've fixed the issue. The system began searching for all usernames beginning with 'a' as I typed 'a' and '.'. The dot was ignored and the system found large number of members with usernames starting with 'a' - and that's why it maxed out on memory. Now, we only process limited number of users.
