sir, found a free software for mind maps - its xmind . writing on paper is more convenient, but even this software is not bad!

        A.V.Ramani
Sure. But hand drawing helps because this involves attention and coordination. With software one's attention is more involved with the software.

        Missed this.
Precision machining, non traditional fabrication like electro chemical milling, laser machining, chemical milling, subtractive processes like chemical milling and additive processes like 3D printing are useful.

Computer aided inspection will be useful for practicing engineers.

Adavances in mechanical processes in other fields like civil engineering, mechatronics and such will add value.
        Regards,
        Ramani

My sincere apologies for not allowing your posts, sir. Late participants would have created more chaos. The debates will be more structured and better organised from next time.

      I'm really sorry.

Was away at 3. No problem, K. Watched all. Debates become semantic. Same word seen differently.
RTE covers Elementary Education (Reading, wRiting, aRithmetic). What about the mentally challenged? Nothing is free. It is the tax payers that pay.
Good start. Corners to be rounded.
What if each puts up a 100 word intro when first called up? Mean more 'meat' in archives. Debating skills can be seen from responses.

I've fixed the issue. The system began searching for all usernames beginning with 'a' as I typed 'a' and '.'. The dot was ignored and the system found large number of members with usernames starting with 'a' - and that's why it maxed out on memory. Now, we only process limited number of users.

sir .. i had seen u posting a comment "body floats when the density above and below matches"...sir so can we make density sensors and change the density accordingly which can be used in submarines and stuff..just an idea
      1. A.V.Ramani
        A.V.Ramani
Certainly, Jishnu. Since it is not possible to change the density of the surrounding liquid, what is done is to adjust the weight of the submarine by filling or emptying the ballast tanks.

Sorry, Marikit. I did not see this post. A happy 2013 for you too. WHat sort of material handling are you thinking of? Some sort of pick and place. Do you want to use a pincer type gripper or some such? Please let me know You can mail me at bioramani@gmail.com also. I always see that many times a day as a lot of my work mail comes on that.

IIT Roorkee seems to have a course. It is available as an E learning here: http://www.nptel.iitm.ac.in/video.php?subjectId=112107143.
Have you contacted Anna Varsity of Technology in Kovai?
Will you present employer sponsor you or permit you taking a part time or distance education course?
In my opinion there could be a good future for IndEng in the manufacturing industries.

        Try this: http://www.arvindguptatoys.com/toys.html
There are a lot of interesting experiments in Physics and mechanics. Though very simple looking the principles involved are the same that sends satellites up.
This is another site for great applications of physics and engineering for do it yourself projects.

        Dear Hasard,
In early 70s I had guided some Mech.Engg.,projects in BMS college.
My area is biomedical devices like heart valves, artificial joints & not electro medicals. I can only suggest but not guide.
My number is 9980129867. Call me between 9 AM and 9 PM. Let me see if we can meet to discuss.
