Computer engineers at the Indian Institute Of Delhi and NVIDIA have teamed up to setup a research lab with an aim to develop an exaflop or 1000 petaflop supercomputer. The lab will be called Exascale Research Lab (ERL) and will be jointly developed by IIT-D & NVIDIA. The lab will also focus on addressing the challenges in computer science, nanotech, material sciences and power engineering. NVIDA will offer its expertise in developing GPUs and also help in building cloud based high performance computing services. NVIDIA plans to use Kepler compute architecture - which powers Titan which currently is the world's top supercomputer.
