HTC Edge - First Quad-Core Smartphone Details Released

Dual-core smartphones are now quiet common these days and is still a hot new technology in smartphone business. Now details are in about the new, first of its kind, quad-core smartphone, HTC Edge. The phone will have a massive 4.7 inch display which will be S-LCD with a high definition resolution of 1280x720. It will be the first to feature the NVIDIA's quad-core Tegra 3 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz.

Some other features include a 1 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage space but there will not be any expansion slots for memory. HTC Edge would feature dual camera with the rear camera being a 8 MP, capable of recording 1080p videos and the front facing camera is also expected to record and stream 720p videos. The thickness of the phone is 8.8mm thick and is a full aluminium body design.

This premium handset will feature Bluetooth 4.0 along with Beats Audio and embedded with Near Field Communication (NFC) chips which are mostly used for sending encrypted data over a short distance. The phone will be having a 1800mAh battery and a microSIM slot. It is expected that HTC Edge will run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) but more information will be available when it is ready for release in the first quarter of 2012.
