G-Riks - Eco Friendly, Battery Powered Rickshaw Launched In Delhi

If you're in Delhi and plan to travel from Malviya Nagar Metro station and Select Citywalk Mall in Saket, you can do so without really harming the environment. The eco-friendly G-Riks have been launched in Delhi by Chief Minister Sheila Dixit. The G-Riks will charge Rs. 10 per passenger. 'Green Wheels', the subsidiary of Star Bus service is looking to foray into bus feeder services with these new G-Riks. The company plans to expand the fleet in the next few weeks and currently employs 25 G-Riks at your service.

Angentum, the later stage private equity and venture capital group is backing the venture and plans to invest Rs. 100 crore in the venture over the next 15 months. Mr. Ajay Singh of the Angentum group wants to see 5 thousands of such eco-friendly vehicles on the streets. The company will also put up charging stations at strategic locations. Mr. Singh mentions that the Delhi Metro project has grown vary rapidly; resulting into the need of putting up an efficient feeder service for the commuters.
