Ozone Cooling Water Towers
I'm doing some research for an investment team on the feasibility and appeal of industrial ozone water cooling towers as opposed to chemical water systems.
From what I've read, the ozone application isn't feasible with high temp water systems. Apparently most industrial plants prefer the high temp systems. Any idea why that is?
What are some concerns the market may have regarding these ozone systems? Corrosion? Scaling? This company appears to be on the cutting edge. Then again, they could be trying to sell something that most people in the industry know won't work. It's challenging to get unbiased input, which is why I'm here.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Ozone Cooling Water Towers
The materials of the cooling tower need to be ozone resistant, hard water conditions are not conducive to the use of ozone. Protecting staff from exposure is also a concern though less so then traditional chemical. You are correct in that this system is more ideal in HVAC not industrial cooling. Its not that high temp systems are preferred, it is that they are mandatory due to high heat production. A two stage system may allow ozone in an industrial setting however the increased life cycle costs and energy footprint would far outweigh the benefits of the ozone system.

Re: Ozone Cooling Water Towers
It purifies the water killing microorganisms & contaminants-like iron, an alternative to using chlorine and other chemicals.
