ya, i agree with you.. after a study with bio-medical instrumentation, i can only say that ECG,EMG,ERG... and many other instruments in the medical field came under bio-medical instrumentation...

I am curious to know what bio medical engineering is about and also encourage you to start few threads related to bio medical engineering on CE. We need more participation from engineers from diverse backgrounds and engineering trends.

What do you say?
first of all, i would like to take chance through this post to introduce my self,Mohammed , (Bachelor)final year in electronics majoring in Bio-instrumentation engineering, about resolving the issue of naming this course a bio-medical or a bio0instrumentation, for my experience as i was undergoing the last three months an industrial training as one of the course requirement, i had the chance for doing the training in Siemens Health-care which is one of the leading companies in the health-care products, the major work that i was doing was in Starting up, commissioning, preventive maintenance and fixing technical problems in medical devices such as X-ray devices,MRI,CT scan...etc.anyways, below i have povided some explanation of the coure. thank you all Crazy Engineer and proud to join you all.

Biomedical Engineering is an upcoming field of technology characterized by a considerable stress on interdisciplinary approach. Being an integrating medium for two dynamic professions, Medicine and Engineering, this discipline cherishes the broad objective of assisting in the struggle against illness and disease by providing tools and techniques research, diagnosis and treatment. The diversified nature of the course encapsulates within its purview, various disciplines of specialization. A Biomedical professional works with other healthcare professionals like Physicians, Nurses, Therapists and Technicians and designs instruments, devices and software that contribute to the development of healthcare.
in the recent times, Biomedical Engineering has gained currency among the student community. Biomedical Engineering combines the thorough knowledge of the principles of both medicine and engineering. The biomedical engineers apply the concepts of biology, physics as well as chemistry to develop products and devices for diagnosis and treatment. The branch integrates physical, chemical, mathematical and computational sciences and engineering principles to study biology, medicine, behavior and health.

Thanks for the information, Mohammed. I hope to see lot of biomedical engineering discussions on CE!
