Hiragana consists of five vowels just like English, but pronounced differently.
They are a, i, u, e, o.
Pronounced :
a as "aa"
i as "ee"
u as "oo"
e as "ae"
o as "O"
Written as
あ - a
い - i
う - u
え- e
お- o
A personal note for all the CEans who would really like to learn Japanese:
Make an entry of each of these posts in a small notebook.
That would be really helpful to understand and recall things later.
