Default Need high freq infrared transmitter and receiver

i am using 8051 for speedometer project.i need a transmitter and receiver circuit for measure pulses from wheel spokes.help me(my bike is cast iron wheel and it has 5 spokes.if the wheel rotate one rotation it give 5 pulses)

Be a bit more descrioptive on the nature of pulses you need...whether it a speed pulse or surface tension pulse
